This is a beta-test version of an online SCA Ordinary and Armorial Database Search Engine, designed to permit flexible searches of the registered names and armory of the Society for Creative Anachronism. This is unofficial software, neither endorsed nor authorized by the SCA College of Heralds.

Among the features of this search engine are:

• Diacriticals, digraphs and foreign characters handled properly (a search for Aethelmearc will return hits for Æthelmearc; Ostgardr will match Østgarðr, Durer will match Dürer, et cetera)
• Boolean searches (and, or and not conjunctions, grouping parentheses)
• Tagged searches (restrict a search term to a single database field, such as a name or armorial description) rather than searching the entire record)
• Regular expression matching (helpful for finding terms with more than one spelling, like regardant and reguardant, by specifying a single term which matches all of the variants)

Please note: Because this is a test version of the software, I would appreciate it if no other pages linked to it until it's deemed "ready for public use", but you're welcome to try it out, let other heralds know about it, and so forth (feedback would be greatly appreciated). You might wish to read the User's Manual before beginning.

Known Bugs: The "return results as database fields" option does not work properly under the Opera Web browser. I am attempting to determine the cause of this problem.
